A few stats: about 29 km, about 1005 m elevation gain, about 9 hours with breaks (from Garmin data). We took the Pasul Mestecanis stamp from Pensiunea Luceafarul.
This was the day it rained, the only day we got rain, and it wasn’t pouring, so it was fine.
This was also the day I realized how much we’re walking on roads. Once again, it’s not just asphalt, it’s a combination of asphalt until we leave town, gravel road, and forest road, but wide enough for cars. I really don’t like hiking on gravel road, since it really hurts the soles of my feet. But it’s still a nice segment.
We met up again with the family, talked more, and were all about to finish the day in the same place. We also met four more hikers, I don’t remember where from, or how far they were going. But we didn’t see our hiking friends again, and wouldn’t see them again, since they were finishing their segment in Vatra Dornei.
We also wouldn’t meet the family again, as they wanted to finish their hike in Poiana Negrii.
The one thing I liked about this day was walking between Christmas trees, there were so many of them, on both sides of the path.
We camped at Cabana Gigi Ursu, where there were 2 very cute and friendly dogs, as well as a very cute cat.
